A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Long Island in
regards to potential flooding from heavy rain and melting snow Sunday,
according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists say a low pressure system from the Carolinas will
approach Sunday afternoon into Sunday night, bringing anywhere from one
to three inches of rain. Higher amounts of rain will lead to flooding.
The high on Sunday will be near 52 degrees, and forecasters warn that
“substantial” snow melt from warm temperatures could add to the
flooding.
The rain will continue until Monday morning, and the rest of the day is
expected to be cloudy and breezy with a high near 43 degrees.
